J + one

There is nothing in this universe as intimate and delicate as a pregnant woman.

That glow. That sway. The incredible magic that happens in those 40 weeks. J is weeks out from having her first baby girl. How in the world is it possible she looks so incredible? Well, she did.

I love photographing women. The look on her face when she sees her beauty behind the camera gives me butterflies. The beauty of confidence is priceless.

Ali + Ryan

One room, two people, and loads of energy.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close. ― Pablo Neruda

It has been a little quiet over here in blog land lately. I have been working on some personal projects this winter. Personal projects are a good way to help find your vision and voice.

This is a new photographer friend of mine, Sonja. She will be second shooting along side me this summer so you may be seeing her pretty little face. A few weeks ago she showed me around her neighborhood in West Seattle. Here are a few images I liked.

Lindsie // Mentor session

Lindsie and I and a sunny day made for a fun little mentor session. We drove around my neighborhood and jumped in an out of the car when we found a cool spot to shoot.

Mentor shoots are fun, relaxed, and rad because I get to share all my tidbits I know about photography and the way I shoot. I am more than willing to share what I have been taught and learned along my journey. If you are interested in a session, send me an email and we will chat.

Isn’t her hair cool?!

Happy Monday!

boudoir : del mar : ms. c

I photographed this lovely lass the day before her wedding in Del Mar, CA. It was a gift for her hubs. And isn’t she a vision?!

Boudoir sessions are more of a pretty girl party than a scary trip to the dentist. Just the right amount of goofy. Just the right amount of bombshell. Most of my lady clients end up owning their session and walking away with more swagger and confidence.

I have received a few inquiries lately wondering when and where I will hold my next boudoir event. Seattle it is… so if you are interested in a boudoir session please email me at nicole@sunshinecharlie.com.

Happy Tuesday… it is sunny in Seattle!

425 magazine print publication

Well, this is an exciting find! A friend notified me earlier this week she saw one of my images in print in a local magazine. 425 magazine is a local living magazine for the Eastside community of Seattle.

The image is from a fashion shoot I shot earlier this year at Neiman Marcus.

My beautiful Bride Christina!

Here is a sneak image of our boudoir shoot yesterday! So excited for Christina and Matt’s wedding today in Del Mar.

Neiman Marcus

I was commissioned to photograph a fall fashion show for Neiman Marcus at The Bravern. The Fall Event showcased the latest fashion pieces coming out for fall 2011.

Cassandra LaValle of Coco + Kelley was a part of the team who organized this event. She’s pretty darling and has a jammed packed blog devoted to fashion and home decor… you should check out her blog if you haven’t already.

More photos from the event will be featured in 425 magazine in the next few months.
